Homicide Investigation Launched After Woman Found Dead in Tamarac

TAMARAC — Authorities have initiated a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman shot dead inside a Broward County home late Friday night.

 

At approximately 11:43 p.m., the Broward County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at a residence on the 4500 block of Northwest 45th Street in Tamarac. Deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene.

 

Upon arrival, deputies found a woman, identified on Sunday afternoon as 53-year-old Janice Herbert, suffering from a gunshot wound. Herbert later succumbed to her injuries, according to BSO officials speaking to CBS News Miami.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact BSO Homicide Detective John Curcio at 954-321-4210 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.
