Join Tamarac’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony to honor the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to their community and country.
The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Vietnam Veteran Levoyd Williams. Williams served in Germany for a year and a half before his deployment to Vietnam, where he served as an Army Staff Sergeant in the Americal Division and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his military service, Williams dedicated himself to community affairs, mentoring young adults at the Boys and Girls Club, advising students in Junior Achievement, and developing educational programs at various churches.
The event will include a presentation of colors by Tamarac Fire Rescue and a rendition of the national anthem by vocalist Chantal Deshaies. A wreath-laying ceremony and a bagpipe performance of “Amazing Grace” will pay tribute to fallen American military heroes.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Park, located at 7825 Southgate Blvd.
