TAMARAC, FL – Kick off your Thanksgiving with a healthy tradition! The City of Tamarac invites runners and walkers of all ages to lace up their sneakers and join the community for the 44th Annual Tamarac Turkey Trot 5K Run. This popular event will take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., starting and finishing at Tamarac City Hall, located at 7525 NW 88th Ave. (Pine Island Road).
The Turkey Trot 5K has become a beloved holiday tradition for families and fitness enthusiasts alike, offering a fun and fast course through the scenic Woodmont area of Tamarac. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or simply want to enjoy a morning of activity before indulging in Thanksgiving festivities, this race is the perfect way to start your day.
Registration Information:
- Early Bird Registration (until October 13th): $25
- Regular Registration (October 14th – November 17th): $30
- Late Registration (November 18th – November 27th or until SOLD OUT): $35
Note: Registration closes when the race sells out, and there is NO race day registration.
All registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt (guaranteed to the first 2,000 registrants) and a finisher’s medal. Sizes are not guaranteed on race day, so be sure to register early!
Course and Timing: The USATF-certified 5K course is flat and fast, winding through the Tamarac community and featuring fluid stations at the first and second mile markers. Chip timing ensures accurate results, and trophies will be awarded to the top three overall finishers and the top three in each age group.
Packet Pick-Up: Participants can pick up their race packets at the Tamarac Community Center (8601 W. Commercial Blvd.) on November 25th, 26th, and 27th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Race day packet pick-up begins at 6:30 a.m. at Tamarac City Hall.
Parking and Additional Information: Parking will be available behind City Hall until the lot is full, with overflow parking in the shopping plaza at Pine Island Road and McNab Road. For more details and to register, visit www.runsignup.com.
This year’s event will support the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Tamarac, with donations funding youth programs, scholarships, park equipment, and community events.
