TAMARAC, FL – The City Commission of Tamarac will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., immediately following the regularly scheduled City Commission Meeting. This special session will take place in Conference Room 105 at City Hall, located at 7525 NW 88th Avenue, and will focus on contract negotiations with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).
The meeting will include the City Commission, City Manager, and key city officials, as they engage in discussions related to the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations with the IAFF, which represents Tamarac’s fire department personnel. These negotiations play a critical role in determining the working conditions, salaries, and benefits for the city’s firefighters.
Executive Session – Closed to the Public:
As per Florida Statutes Section 447.605(1), this session will be closed to the public and media. The law allows discussions related to collective bargaining between the city’s executive officers and its legislative body to remain private in order to ensure confidential negotiations. As a result, members of the public will not be permitted to attend this portion of the meeting.
